Merry Christmas

We are open this whole week as usual leading up to Christmas but will be closed on Monday, December 26th.

We pray for a safe and blessed Christmas to all of our volunteers and supporters as well as for those who need our help the most this holiday season.

Closed for Christmas

Celebrate the Birth of ChristIn order to be able to spend quality time with friends and family in the celebration of the birth of our Lord, we will not be open on Christmas Day and will resume normal lunch services Monday, December 28th. Merry Christmas!

God Is Watching Over Us

20141219_112022We are constantly amazed and gratified by the great and generous people of all faiths and beliefs who believe in the necessity to help those in need.  Now that the Christmas season is in full swing, we have seen some impressive food and toy drives and thankfully we have been able to match these gifts with many local families.

20141219_112304This array of new and unwrapped toys was dropped off recently. The thoughtfulness is astounding and the joy in watching the families with young children pick out a gift is worth all the effort.

Merry Christmas

Baby Jesus with Mary and Joseph

During this time of waiting for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and

Savior, we are even more aware of the troubles of those around us.  It is surprising how many of our regular visitors to our soup kitchen have issues other than poverty.  Many are afflicted with severe mental and physical handicaps while others are saddled with a prison record or felony conviction which severely hampers their employment opportunities.

For those without family and friends to rely on for support, we like to think of our ministry as a “home away from home” which is why the focus is on providing a clean, non-preachy, and peaceful refuge.  In order to do this we are in constant need of prayers and monetary support as well as creative and heart-felt programs to help those in need to find their way out what many see as a hopeless situation.

We will be closed on Christmas Day as well as New Year’s Day.  The rest of the time we have decorated the dining room with cards made from a local school and other Chistmas decorations.

Please accept our wishes for a safe and wonderful celebration of the baby Jesus.
