History

The Our Father’s House Soup Kitchen started in 1989 when God called Jimmy and Phyllis Rotonno to Matthew 25:34-40.  “For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and Our Founder, Jimmy Rotonnoyou gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me.”  These words from God filled their hearts with love and compassion to give the needy and homeless a bag of food and a hot meal.  When the ministry first started, only a bag of food was given to homeless and needy families.  Today, the ministry has grown into a fully operational faith-based soup kitchen that provides 1200 meals a month.

God called Jimmy to his heavenly home July 11, 2004 but by the grace of God and support from Phyllis’s family and the Board of Directors and the faithful volunteers, she has been able to continue to serve and help the many who come to Our Father’s House Soup Kitchen. The vision and dream that Phyllis and Jimmy shared (God’s Willing) will always remain part of their life.
